Public notice

‘Public notice’  comments on the recently introduced playground by-law brought in by Cork and Kerry County Councils which states that only family members may use image recording devices. In controlling who has the right to use image recording devices in playgrounds this new bye-law sets a precedent in relation to the right to privacy in a public place. The artist encourages the viewer to question this right to privacy and the authorization afforded to some camera operators (i.e family members) and not others. In ‘Public Notice’ Aileen Drohan uses YouTube clips filmed in irish playgrounds and uploaded by the general public.
